Women Risk Feet In Fashion's Name
Fashionable shoes can be worn occasionally.

Nearly four in 10 women buy shoes knowing they do not fit, a poll of 2,000 reveals.
The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists found 37% would wear uncomfortable shoes as long as they were fashionable.
And 17% of men admit buying shoes in the wrong size.
Although 80% of the women said they suffered foot problems like corns or ingrowing nails, only four in ten of the men and women surveyed sought help.

Lorraine Jones, from the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, said: "Many of us find it hard to resist a bargain and the latest fashion must-have, but it's important to remember that by buying ill-fitting shoes, you're not only going to end up in discomfort, but you are also putting your health at risk."
Importantly, if your feet hurt something is wrong.
Although "killer" high-heels can cause problems, slip-on shoes are one of the worst culprits, as they cause the foot to slide forward and cramp the toes.
Worst of all are court shoes, as they are low-fronted, giving no support to the foot, and tend to be too narrow in the toe.
Ms Jones said many people are wearing the wrong sized shoes on a daily basis without even realising it.

“Ladies and gentleman, Dave Dogan is on the street once again asking simple questions to normal people like you and me and getting ridiculous answers.” The late night host put his mike in its holder and sat down on his posh leather sofa. “Let’s listen in.”
“Hi, Larry. Hi, TV audience. Tonight we are outside on Times Square with streets full of people doing their Christmas shopping. They are thinking about gifts, and little else. Let’s see how smart they are. I’ll ask a fairly easy question, and I’ll bet no one can answer it. Let’s see. Excuse me, sir. Who is the Vice-President of the U.S.?
A short man with a Yankees hat stood with a puzzled look on his face. “George Bush, isn’t it? The father?”
A small frail, woman with an elfin face remained silent for a bit. “I haven’t been paying attention to politics. If you want to know, go to the library. Last VP I remember was tricky Dick Nixon. We all know what happened to him.”
A gaunt fatherly man answered, “Hmmmmmmmm. What’s his name? The hunter? Condoleezza Rice? No, not her. Cheney. Lon Cheney.” His obviously enlightened daughter said, “C’mon Dad. It’s Dick Cheney, not Lon. Lon Chaney was Dracula.”

The first man said that George Bush was the Vice-President. The woman said she didn’t know. She also said to go to the library. She stated that she hadn’t been paying attention lately. The father answered it was Condoleezza Rice. Each of these are examples of being “put on the spot”. This happens when someone is put in a difficult or embarrassing position by being forced to make a tough decision or answer an embarrassing question. Each of these people probably knew the answer, but were too tense or startled to answer correctly. With today’s technology, it is easy to put people in situations like this, making millions of viewers chuckle. You may laugh, too, but what would you have said?

How Istanbul has changed in the last 10 years
In 1997, we moved to our new home in Istanbul. Istanbul had a lot of problems 10 years ago. However, many of those problems have been solved.
Istanbul has progressed year by year. For example, we now have the F1 GrandPrix.
Nevertheless, Istanbul still has a lot of things to improve. For instance, Istanbul has a population problem, so the city is very crowded.
I think Istanbul will get better day by day.
